Microbiology Laboratory Solutions
Ensuring microbiological quality control (QC) is essential across industries such as food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, environmental testing, and research laboratories. Reliable microbial testing not only protects consumer safety but also ensures compliance with strict international standards and regulatory frameworks.
Modern microbiology laboratories must balance accuracy, traceability, and efficiency while handling increasing sample volumes and complex matrices. Regulations such as ISO 7218 (general requirements for microbiological examinations), ISO 4833 (colony count methods), USP <61>/<62> (microbial enumeration), USP <81> (antibiotics microbial assays), FDA 21 CFR Part 11 (data integrity), and EUCAST/CLSI guidelines for antimicrobial susceptibility testing define stringent expectations for laboratory workflows and data management.
At IUL, we develop advanced microbiology laboratory solutions designed to standardize processes, reduce variability, and improve throughput, while supporting compliance with these regulatory requirements. Our instruments integrate seamlessly into laboratory workflows, enabling reproducible results and full traceability from sampling to reporting.
SAMPLES
Sample types
The starting point of the workflow. Each matrix enters the process with its own preparation protocol and its own reference microbiological limits.

STEP 1
Sample dilution
The sample is weighed in a bag on the load cell and the unit dispenses diluent according to the preset dilution factor. Gravimetric, fully traceable dilution.

STEP 2
Homogenization
The paddles release the microorganisms from the matrix without ever opening the bag. Filter bags are used for samples that generate particles.

STEP 3
Spiral plating
Deposits a decreasing concentration gradient on a single plate, covering three decimal dilutions. Every sample uses a new sterile microsyringe.

STEPS 2 AND 4
Colony counting
Both the homogenized sample and the air sample are read optically, and the artificial intelligence software counts and identifies the resulting colonies automatically.
STEP 1
Air sampling
Draws a known volume of air and impacts it onto the agar plate. This is where environmental monitoring enters the workflow in cleanrooms and production areas.
SAMPLE
Environmental air
The airborne microbial load of the area under monitoring. Origin of the air sampling branch of the workflow.
