Eddy Jet 2W
Spiral Plater

About Eddy Jet 2W
Eddy Jet 2W is a spiral plater that automates microbial plating by combining dilution and spiral inoculation in a single 30-second process. Three dilution zones are produced on a single plate, removing the need for manual pipetting while reducing time, consumables, and waste.
Unlike conventional systems, Eddy Jet 2W is the only spiral plater equipped with disposable sterile microsyringes. This patented technology ensures sterility without washing, bleach, or internal fluid circuits. It eliminates cross-contamination, reducing the risk of false positives, while also minimizing false negatives caused by residues of cleaning agents or bleach carryover.
With fast setup, no cleaning, and easy touchscreen operation, the Eddy Jet 2W delivers high-throughput, reliable, and reproducible results, with the flexibility to adapt to irregular agar surfaces through slower plating or the use of leveling discs.

Product Insights
Traditional pour and spread plating methods are well-established microbiology techniques, but they often require multiple serial dilutions and repetitive manual plating steps.
Spiral plating streamlines microbial enumeration by combining dilution and plating into a single automated process. Recognized in standards including ISO 7218, ISO 4833-2, AOAC 977.27, and FDA BAM, it provides a validated and standardized alternative for microbial colony counting.
Eddy Jet 2W spiral plating helps reduce sample preparation, pipetting, consumable usage, and processing time by minimizing dilution steps, plate usage, and manual handling requirements.
Eddy Jet 2W offers 37 distribution programs, including logarithmic, linear, and uniform plating modes for routine microbial enumeration, gradient-based applications, and AST lawn preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Eddy Jet 2W automates microbial inoculation on Petri dishes using spiral plating technology. It creates up to three decimal dilution zones on a single plate, eliminating the need for traditional serial dilutions and helping streamline microbiological workflows.
Each plating cycle uses a sterile disposable microsyringe, eliminating the need for cleaning between samples. This helps prevent cross-contamination while reducing manual handling and preparation time.
Eddy Jet 2W supports multiple plating modes, including: logarithmic (exponential), linear, and uniform plating, including lawn preparation.
The system is compatible with standard 90 mm plates and 150 mm plates.
Built-in verification features allow regular verification of volume and syringe positioning to ensure precise, consistent results.
Yes. Plates prepared with Eddy Jet 2W are fully compatible with the SphereFlash® for automated, high-accuracy colony counting. When a lawn is prepared for AST applications, SphereFlash® can be used for automated, high-accuracy inhibition zone measurement.
